Capitol Building |
After Gary got the clear from the doctor, he's ready to go right back on tour!
We drove down from Montreal to Washington on Thurs 2nd Sept with Steve and Magda. Looong drive - 11 hours in total - but not too bad when we do little stops every 2 hours or so.
Gary will be very pleased with my following announcement: He drove on the other side (not the wrong side) of the road, on the highway for 1.5 hours!
We got to Washington at night and was pleasant to find out that we got a big apartment with a big king size bed! A grand piano is also available to residents in the Great Room by the lobby so I can practice my rusty skills. Too bad we only got to use the outdoor pool and whirlpool once especially that the weather has been so beautiful and hot. According to the law in Virginia, all pools close after the Labour Day weekend. The building that we live in is located in a very nice location, with the mall just behind, and grocery store, pharmacy just around the corner. Everyday we have shuttle buses every hour to bring us to and from the site, which requires crossing 3 states to get to.
This is just in: I'm an 'intern' soon, oh yeahh~~ (more on it later when it's all official)

inside Metro station |
On Sunday 5th Sept, a group of us, Michel, Laura, Michel's parents and brother Denis, Ludo, Zeca, Gary and I took the Metro and went for a Double Decker bus hop-on-hop-off tour around Washington. Inside the Metro looks pretty modern, and possibly the only subway that I know of is carpeted! We arrived to Union Station, the biggest train station in the world, and got onto the Double Decker, started my first DD tour! A nice brief glance of the city that we're in for the next 7 weeks!
We stayed on the bus until the White House stop and of course we took some pictures at the front and the back of the White House. We then proceeded to discuss how far can one go after jumping the fence before one is taken down... by undercover cops in the bush? snipers? hovering helicopters? Then we realized we would probably get arrested just from talking about it. We hopped back onto the bus after some wandering around and finished the tour.

Zeca + biceps |
Wednesday 8th Sept was Private Preview of the show! Guests were given free pop, popcorn and champagne! There were lots of families and friends of employees - the public was loud in the big top - really good atmosphere. It was really nice to see everyone on OVO again and really happy to receive a big welcome =D

Reika and I in front of the Big Top |
I missed seeing the show and it was interesting to see some changes. Zeca was a very funny mosquito; Andre landing at the centre on his hands during the flying act; Joseph changed up a bit during interaction with the audience. Gary said it was difficult getting back after 6 weeks being out and today hee isss innnn pain. I thought I saw him panting on stage, hahaha! I did give him a massage last night after the show, though I guess the smacking and pinching method didn't help as I was really sleepy and wanted it over with.
Oops! No pain, no gain Gazza!!
interesting remarks:
there are a lot of museums, attraction sites and a lot of them are free and open pretty much everyday.
Do you have the Indonesian oil, Ngo Shuet Yau with you? It really soothes sour muscle. Baba
