Rarrr! Hoo~ Ssss... Nomnomnomnommm

Much thanks to the Smithsonian Institution, we are thoroughly entertained.
I still can't get over that there are so many free things to do in DC and it makes me happy. Too bad we aren't here for long enough, otherwise I would love to volunteer there. Only 3 weeks left, I really have to manage my time well between going to site and visiting museums.

We were there for about 4 hours but there were still about a 1/3 of the zoo that we haven't been to, due to construction and low level of interest.

I personally think this zoo is much nicer than most of the other zoos I've been to, but there were many bad reviews on the internet. Mostly complaining that the animals were hiding. Sometime it took us a while to look for the animal, or we simply couldn't see them, but the exhibits were built to mimic the natural environment of the animals as close as possible....and go figure, animals generally hide, unless they are gorillas or orangutan who enjoyed Homo sapiens watching them vomit. So if you expect all animals to be on display in concrete rooms with metal bars, and minimal walking, National Zoo would be a disappointment.

Dinner was back to Ray's the Steaks!

Aftermath? Not so bad. Let's start with a cup of tea, shall we?

I look a mess but I don't care because I got tea, yayyyy
Party was a lot of fun and happy that a lot of people were there last night. We (Gaz, me, Clair, John, Laura and Mich) planned to go to the Museum of Natural History on our first day off, so we were careful not to overdo the alcohol, especially Gary as it was his birthday party. Date with the white bowl on day off is not fun...

10:30am, it's all good. I felt alright, Gary had a bit of a headache, and that's about it.

Weeee~ a tune while we wait to meet in the lobby (photo credit: Clair)
Our objective was to see the dinosaurs, however, we stumbled upon an interesting fact that Gary used to love collecting rocks and stones! As we stroll through the Gem, Stone and Crystal gallery, we saw a sparkle in Gary's eyes.

Crazy thing at the museum was, I bumped into my high school (in Hong Kong) classmate Jonathan Sheen while he was getting out of the elevator that I was about to enter.
"*gasp*What you doing here?!" was our greeting.

We decided to go to the famous cupcake shop in DC, which has their own television program on TLC, Georgetown Cupcakes. Legendary.
The shop was quite packed and we saw the film crew constantly trying to squeeze by the customers.

Good way to end the day. Zoo tomorrow?

Thumbs Up Friends!!

The past 2 days I have been working in 54 and Wardrobe. Didn't have much for me to do at the moment at 54, so I was given the project of sorting the screws, nuts and bolts into the correct places in the tray, which took me 1.5 days. You bet I constantly received comments like, "What's this punishment for??"
Well, it was an important task that someone needs to take on, and that person, my friend, was me. So... take that!
I also finished covering the rope for the back up strap act and that took about on-and-off 2 weeks. New project, next!

I finally got some black pants, which I've never been more excited to put on because that signified I now have my full black outfit and will be able to follow the technicians backstage during show and learn! Yay! Well... I was also excited since I found them at Marshall's, which was surprisingly relatively tidy for a Saturday, within 20 minutes, and was at a bargain price $12.99. Sweetness.

First kitchen brunch for Clair and Jon! Roast of the day was Bison Wellington!! American buffalo, so lean, so tender, so good.

Today's plan was brunch, show backstage, home, cook dinner and get ready for party, then 18th Street Lounge! But first, they had to get through 2 shows and Sunday is never easy. Everyone seemed exhausted. Next week is going to be even harder--9 shows in 5 days! Double Dark is much needed!!

Back home, while Clair and I took our time to do girlie things, John took care of dinner for all of us. Pasta with chicken and sausages was really nice. About 10 people came to ours before we headed out to the lounge to meet the others.
